Hello! Semi-New Member from San Mateo, CA
Hi everyone! I can't remember when I first joined this site, but ever since I did, I have been just learning, reading, and listening and it is time where learning and reading be accompanied with action. I've danced around this introduction post for far too long. I'm a cautious guy, and I'll chalk it up to that... I will have to give some additional credit to @JMartin too. I've yet to meet with him or talk to him, but I just read the thread for his success in my area and it's given me that push to post this introduction. Anyways, I've always thought it would be awesome to get into real estate investing to help me achieve financial freedom. I have spent almost my entire life in education because I wanted to become a doctor and help people. Helping people has always been a motivator for me. I'm now a dentist in South San Francisco, CA (since 2013) and I love what I do. I just also want to get my real estate career started. I envision my real estate journey to be a long one where I can eventually give back and continue to help others, maybe even be a guest on a podcast! That would be pretty awesome.
While I love my job and what I do, it has left me pretty deep in the red. I'm hoping to be able to succeed in both my day job and real estate to help me overcome this big hurdle and gain control of my life.
I am looking for my first deal and I would ideally like to house-hack it. Looking mostly for a small multifamily property (duplex, triplex, or ideally a 4-plex) in the South San Francisco region. I'm interested in multi-family investing large and small. I'm a pretty open guy and am willing to learn.
I hope that I will get to know many of you and that we can all help each other out. Thanks for letting me be a part of the community.
