Intro from Lemoore, California

Hi everyone, my name is Jamie Salavea. We are currently living in Lemoore, California, on the naval base. Husband, Moe, is due to get out soon, and I am looking up all the information I can find on real estate investing. He has always been interested in flipping houses, and now that is something we can pursue. We were thinking about moving to Texas, around the Fort Worth area, as I've read that it is a good housing market. We are at a loss on where to start. We have four kids so living in a small apartment is not an option. What we are stuck on is whether we should buy a house and live in it as we flip it, or if we should find a good real estate investment group nearby and take that route, to have extra income, then after a few months, buy a house to flip. Any suggestions, feedback, and/or advice would be greatly appreciated!
