Hey all!

Brand new to the site and looking forward to networking with all of you. My wife and I decided when we got married at 19 and 20 years old <----- (you read that right) That we wanted to be our own bosses and go into real estate. 7 years, lots of school, and endless research later and we are finally taking action! I am planning to get started with conventional sales/wholesales and quickly transition into rehabbing and long term investments. It is great to see the wealth of knowledgable investors here that are willing to share with novices like myself!

@Brian Porter

Hello and welcome to Bigger Pockets! Below are some links that I hope you will find helpful as well as some tips to get you started on the site.

Start here: http://www.biggerpockets.com/starthere

Find and connect with other BP members that are in your area: http://www.biggerpockets.com/meet

Check out the BP Podcast:http://www.biggerpockets.com/renewsblog/category/podcast/

Definitely check out the beginner's guide and set up your keyword alerts like @Larry Fried suggested.

Since you are from the Bay Area, I would also like to throw in a plug for an article by one of my favorite bloggers on the site, @Scott Trench about investing in expensive cities: http://www.biggerpockets.com/renewsblog/2015/03/07...

If you are looking to build long term wealth but do not have much of a personal finance background, I suggest you check out the rest of his articles as well, they are great for 20 somethings.

Last but not least, don't underestimate the power of participating in the forums! Welcome people to the site, congratulate people on their successes and contribute to real estate discussions where you can. Set up a keyword alert for your area and interact with the other people in your area as much as possible. This will help build your local knowledge as well as your network.

Good luck and hope to see you around the site!
