Hi All,

Just wanted to introduce myself -- Abdul is my name, I live in Brooklyn (Prospect Lefferts Gardens area) and work in Manhattan, where I am an investment officer and attorney at a bank for a team focused on supporting socially-motivated enterprises. I grew up in the Fort Greene area in the 80's and 90's and the economic transformation of that community had a big impact on how I view the world. I'm a novice to real estate investing, and have been gobbling up the BP podcasts and poking around the forums for sometime, so it feels good to finally step into the light.

I am looking to focus on distressed multi-families (2-4 units) in the NY tri-state area, and eventually in South Carolina and potentially Michigan (my mother's from S.C. and I attended college in Michigan). This is primarily driven by the high price points for retail properties in this market. (Jeez).

I've been spending time looking at lis pendens properties in NY on foreclosures.com and Fannie-owned properties on HomePath. (Any additional sources would be helpful).

It would be great to connect with others focused in the pre-foreclosure and REO space in the area. Thanks so much in advance, and what a great resource.
