Hello! Iowa guy here looking to invest in San Diego

Hi everyone! I am very excited to make my introduction on BP as I have been lurking for a few months now, along with reading everything I can and listening to the podcasts.

My situation is somewhat out of the norm as I am looking to begin my investing career not here in Iowa but actually in San Diego, closer to where my family is.  I know deals are scarce... I'm looking to begin with SFHs. I am fortunate to have family members who are brokers and investors themselves in SD who will help me get started. I'm a physician and have been saving up the capital to get started.  Looking forward to networking with everyone and using BP to continue to gain knowledge!
