New Investor living in North Atlanta

Hi Bigger Pockets Family,

I have been lurking on the site since the fall of 2014, but because of my newly set goals to take more action, I want to formally introduce myself and become more active on the website.

My husband and I recently moved from the DC metro area (Maryland) to the North Atlanta area (Suwanee) in July of 2014. I have always been interested in real estate and the concept of “making money when I sleep”. I even considered getting my real estate license. (I didn’t, but my hubby did @Thomas Whitehead).

My background in economics and policy analysis makes me his perfect compliment with real estate investing—so that is my focus—finding and analyzing great deals for investing. (thanks BP calculators!) I also love learning from the successes and disappointments of the other investors in this community. I plan to make my way through all of the podcasts, I’ve listened to about 30 so far, and I believe multifamily properties is where I would like to start my journey.

I thank @Mark Ferguson (my real estate crush) who led me to bigger pockets. His model of flipping, buy and holds, and owning a brokerage is exactly what I want for my family and his transparency is commendable. Thanks Mark! (yes I’m a subscriber:))
