Sacramento & Bay Area- new to investing, 8 years CRE experience- looking to be a scout

Hey there fellow CRE enthusiasts, coming at you from warm (and dry!) NorCal. I'm a 32 year old guy born and raised right here in the San Francisco Bay Area and Sacramento valley. Lived in SF for 11 years and currently residing in Sacramento, but do a lot of traveling back and forth.

Right now I am an independently contracted field inspector for commercial real estate services. It's a cool job in that I get to travel around, meet new people, and come across different types of properties. Some of my clients over the years have influenced me to get into investing and scouting. I think scouting would be a good place to start, since I don't have much to my name yet.

I've met with a few investors so far in Sacramento to discuss a game plan and how to proceed.

I'm looking to connect with others who are scouts or started out as scouting that could pave the path a little bit so I know where I'm stepping. Want my boots to stay as clean as possible, haha.

A little about me: I have a Media Studies & Communications degree. I have experience in online marketing. I enjoy video production and am taking classes to brush up on these skills (skills that I'm sure could benefit my own real estate career). I enjoy triathlons and anything that I can see steady progress leading to big gains and success. Love cooking, going for walks with my dog, living the single life, traveling, a good dry red wine, and face massages. Also love reading and learning- currently reading "Crush It!" by Gary Vaynerchuk.
