New in New Orleans

Hi all,

I've been lurking here for while and I know the only way to gain more insight is to ask questions and be more involved on bigger pockets.

My name is Catrina (nope, not the hurricane). Born and raised in sweet ol New Orleans.  My family and I are looking to invest in buy/hold and flip properties in the greater New Orleans area.

One if the first phases of research for us is knowing our market. I'm looking to network with any investors in the region that can provide insight on how our market is holding up. I see a lot of houses under construct/rehab but I also see a lot that are not. For those who are investing here, how is the market for buy/hold and flipping homes? How competitive is wholesaling here?

Any information and advice is appreciated!

Thanks in advance and I hope to build many relationships here.
