New Buy and Hold Investor from Clinton, TN

Hello All,

Just wanted to introduce myself. I am completely new to real estate investing and found Bigger Pockets podcast when trying to educate myself on this field. I am interested in Buy and Hold SFR Rentals at this point. I have a very limited knowledge, but it is increasing daily by reading forum post, listening to podcast while exercising and just before bed, and talking to my real estate agent that I have used in the past.

I am currently employed as a career firefighter. I work a 24 hr shift and have 48 hrs off which allows me a lot of time to dedicate to this new way of life for me and my family. I have a lot of knowledge in home maintenance and repair and plan on using these skills on my first few homes to save money and have some sweat equity invested.

My goal is to increase my knowledge as much as possible this year and purchase a positive cash flowing rental investment property by the end of the year.

We don't have a loads of money setting around in bank accounts, but do have some to invest with. We are looking at different creative ways to purchase properties in addition to the conventional way.

I want to say "Thank You" to all those that participate in the forum. I have learned so much reading and listening to advice from this website and podcast these past few days.
