Hi all!

I am Michael Whitener from Temple, Tx. about 60 miles north of Austin. I have been a bathtub and counter top refinisher for 13 years now. I have also repaired almost everything in a home. i only avoid major electrical and plumbing. I know people that have more knowledge than me for those things. I have had several friends that were investors and most have sold everything and retired. I do sill have one that is a bit younger than myself still actively investing. He is the one that put the bug in my ear and offers some advice if I ask. I also have the ability to use the equity in a home that is paid for and worth approx. $120k.

Which brings me to my question or two....

Would you start with options and wholesaleing? or flipping? If you where in my shoes.

I personally lean to flipping because I could do 90% of the work or sub it out lower holding cost.

Thanks

Mike

Hi Andy,

At the moment I am planning on staying in the Temple, Belton area until I get a couple under my belt. The biggest economic drivers around here are medical,(Scott & White hospital) several large corps, and several colleges, along with a portion of Ft.Hood personel.

I am also looking into the possibility of aquiring some land and building a few smaller homes (approx.1000-1200sq ft) as rentals. Lots more due diligence to do on that thought though.
