Newbie DFW area

I'm Amy and currently live in North Texas.  I've worked in education for the past 15 years and am currently pursuing my professional counseling license.  My experience in real estate is limited to the buying and selling of my own personal home.  I'm currently in the education phase of my journing reading, listening and looking to learn the business.  

My goals in REI are to invest in single family homes within my area and in the next 5 years have 5-10 investment properties. Right now I'm working on figuring out how to jump into the first one!
