Hello, Real Estate people!

Hi,

I thought that a good first post would be an introduction and saying hi to everyone out there.

I live in the San Francisco bay area, working in the tech industry with a strong desire of doing something that produces some more cash than what my bank savings account does (almost negative).

Came in here with the desire to learn more about REI after reading Brandon Turner's "The Book on Investing In Real Estate with No (and Low) Money Down" book, which I read after reading Robert Kiyosaki's "Rich Dad, Poor Dad". And, of course, networking is also another reason why I'm here.

For now I'm interested in investing in rental properties (thinking of turnkeys right now - due to time constrains) and maybe flipping after I gain some experience and feel more comfortable about it. Who knows what else later on.

Alright, I think that's good for an introduction.

Welcome! I live and invest up in Oakland (and Richmond). I invest locally, but others are going out of state. @Omi C. recently bought a turnkey property and @Jay Hinrichs and @Brie Schmidt set up turnkey-reviews.com to get investor better informed about what's going on in the turnkey world. So take a look at that, and talk to some other investors who have purchased turnkey properties. (I'm sure you'll get plenty selling responding to this forum post!)

I have a meetup later this month in SF, and @Johnson H. has a great meetup in San Jose. Come say hi to some other investors, and see what everyone is up to. Look forward to meeting you in person soon Elder!
