New investor ready to learn

My name is Jarrett Rentz and I am new to real estate.  I currently live in Oceanside, CA and plan to move to Cleveland after military retirement in a few years.   

My goal is to start part time investing, but not sure if I should start here around the area or start looking around Cleveland where the family will end up.  

I started reading the beginners guide, and listened to some of the podcasts.  So far its been a wealth of information.  There is so much to learn here that I fear it may take some time to soak it all in.  

So far it has been an amazing experience and I appreciate everyone for sharing their knowledge and experiences.  I hope to one day be able to give back to this awesome community.
