Hey all, my name is Trent Moore and I am kind of new here to Bigger Pockets forum and Real Estate. I signed up a few weeks ago and have done some lurking on the forums and it seems like a good place to participate in RE discussions. I have also been listening to the Bigger Pockets podcast (being able to listen as I work) and have learned numerous information that has helped me start to take RE more serious. I am here because I wanted to introduce myself finally. I am 28 years old and work as a Document coding technician for a local company. My hours are very flexible with the option to work from home, which will give me time to pursue my real estate goals.

My goal with Real Estate is to accumulate enough cash flow from my rental portfolio so I can quit my job somewhere down the road to free up time so I can do something else with my life (ie. starting my own business).

One of the reasons I choose real estate is because my parents purchased properties their entire lives and it has allowed them to free up their time and provide a nice semi-passive income currently owning 29 units in 5 buildings.

Although I grew up observing my parents I have really just begun to get serious about real estate in the past few months. My friend and business partner (Dennis Walter) and I plan on purchasing our first rental property (2-4 units) within the next year and have begun the process in doing so. We have looked at 5 properties in our area (Altoona, Pa) and were very underwhelmed at what was available. We wanted our first property to provide us instant cashflow and not require much as fair as renovations and repairs go (at least starting out). There is one property we liked, but it seems to run us pretty tight and I am starting to feel like its not even worth putting in an offer.

Well that's just a brief introduction about myself and where I am currently with RE, sorry for rambling on haha and thank you for reading my post. I am sure I've still left out some details that you would like to know so feel free to ask me about anything you want. I can't wait to network with you all.

Glad I could help. Unfortunately I have an android and budget pockets clearly doesn't care about us lil ole Android users so there's no app for us :(  Oh well...maybe one day.
