Rookie investor in WV

Hello BP,

I am 23 years old, just starting a good career and I have some extra money currently in stocks that I would like to split into stocks and a real estate down payment.  I have never invested in real estate before and it is very exciting to learn about it on this site.  I learned about this website from one of the books that have been made from Bigger Pockets.

I have a couple issues that will complicate things.  I will probably move from this area completely within the next year and I do not know much about the real estate market in the area I am currently in.  I can liquidate about $9000 in securities for a down payment and still be diversified.  I am thinking of trying to get a triplex at my next location but with the possibility of moving I am perfectly fine with getting a property that is a few hours away from me and using a property manager.

Also, all the responsibilities a property manager takes care of, how many hours a month would they usually spend on filling 2 units in a triplex? How long does it take for them to do their work? Depending on the amount of hours per month I may just go with property mangers indefinitely.

Honestly I do not know yet. I am young, new and I am still trying to find out information that is basic to any experienced investor.  Thank you for your time, I'm sure I will enjoy being a part of the community.
