Newbie from northern New Jersey

Hey everybody,

My name is Matt and I am completely new to the real estate industry looking to learn as much as I can. This site seems to be a valuable resource and a great place to get started. I'm in my 20s and want to start laying the foundation now to build a long term real estate business throughout the rest of my career. I'm a commercial airline pilot living in northern New Jersey and finally have the time and flexibility to devote the time and effort to getting started. Like many others, I would like to supplement my income so I don't have to rely solely on the paycheck from my job.

One of the first steps I want to take is to get my real estate license, so I'm currently looking for a good place to do that. I'm looking for an online school because my schedule changes each month, however I haven't been able to find one in NJ, only in NY with NYREI, so I may have to get licensed in NY first. I'm hoping to be in a position to buy my first property in a year or two, and as of now mainly interested in rental properties. Looking forward to learning as much as I can and talking with everyone!

Matt
