Hello from Bay Area, CA

Hi everyone! I'm a new and discouraged investor-wannabe working and living in the ludicrous land of Bay Area, California. I currently live in Cupertino and work as a full-time engineer in the Peninsula. I've lived and worked in various cities here and have witnessed the astronomical growth of the bubble-like economy in Silicon Valley.

I've finally come to the conclusion that real estate investing is the way to go (wish I had arrived sooner!) and would love to get started, but the prices here are so steep that it's discouraged me over and over again. I talk myself into thinking there has to be a way.

The resources I've found here at BP are amazing, thank you Brandon and Josh! I hope to connect and contribute to the community on BP as well as locally.

Hi Julie,

Welcome to Biggerpockets. Don't feel overwhelmed with the resources here. Treat it like a buffet. Absorb what you can. The rest may not be relavant now.

You're not the only one feeling that way. A lot of folks wished they had arrived sooner. A gentleman, that I used to work with, wished he had bought a house in 1976. Homes in our area were always so expensive to him that he ended up renting his whole life.

Reach out to my brother @J. Martin . It's free to attend. J might even buy you a beer or two. :0)

Have fun reading, learning and absorbing.
