New in the Seattle Area!

Hi Everyone,

I'm Phoebe and I'm looking to buy small multi-family properties in King or Pierce County, Washington (Seattle and Tacoma areas for those who are not familiar). I'm a veteran, so my first property will be an owner-occupied 4-plex financed by VA loan.

My goal:

  • Have enough cash flow that my husband can permanently retire ($200k/y in today's dollars) in 10 years

Although this business will be mine alone, my husband is concerned about how we can accomplish these goals without over-leveraging ourselves. We're both still working and intend to continue doing so. We intend to use spare cash from our jobs to help accelerate the business whenever appropriate.

I'm putting together a plan that will split the difference between my aggressive tendency and his conservative tendency. I'm hoping 10 years is a long enough time horizon to make us both happy! I'm looking forward to filling in my knowledge gaps and jumping in within the next 6 months!

Thanks for reading! See you around the forums.

-Phoebe
