Good evening,

My name is Kamisha and I am pretty new to real estate investing. My husband and I currently have one personal turned rental property in the VA Beach area and are looking into purchasing more buy and hold properties. We are a Navy family; therefore, we move around every so often and plan to look in other locations for the most part. Recently transferring to the San Diego area, we are hoping to find a hybrid buy and hold here.

Our reasoning behind this is that we are renting a property in Carlsbad for a little over 3K a month. At this rate, we feel that we could buy a property in the North County and (possibly) pay less than what we're renting for. We've already been pre-approved for a VA loan and are in the process of looking for homes.

Once we leave in two years, or even in one year of occupancy, we plan to keep the home as a rental if it makes financial sense; otherwise, we may sell depending on the feasibility and profitability.

Because of how expensive this area is (I’m originally from TX, husband is from MD), we’re extra cautious about making any hasty decisions. I plan to learn as much as possible from BP and would love to network with other investors.
