Jason Stone from Houston, Texas. Howdy y'all.
Hey Guys, this community is awesome. I've been trolling for a while and am finally getting off by duff and getting back into the game.
About me: I used to work at the oil refineries in Texas City, then decided to leave. So, I started a business and quit my day job to travel, fly, sail around the world. After about two years on one income stream, I've decided I need more security, so rather than start another business, I figured filling out my portfolio in real estate would be the best way to go for ROI and security. So, I've come back to BP (bigger pockets, not my old employer ;) to learn the game. I've been reading, watching, listening to anything I can get my hands on and am finally starting to get my head wrapped around this game.
My goals thus far are to go directly into mid size multi-family. Ideally as a silent partner that haunts the lead as a student, with their permission, to learn the process in actual practice (as opposed to all of the theory I've been reading.) Then determining if I want to go solo, or stay silent. I'm a huge fan of passive income, and don't mind exchanging points for less hassle.
My finances: about 400k NW, around 300k is liquid and looking for a home.
Also, I own a sailing yacht that's moored in Seabrook. I use it fairly often for business and couchsurfing meetups. So, I'd like to extend an open invitation to take out some experienced folks and exchange beer for knowledge! Unfortunately I'm still making my way back to Houston from Antarctica, so I don't expect to be in town until mid April.
Also, I'm very knowledgeable about online business (product based) so if anyone is interested in making money that way to diversify, hit me with any questions you have. There are a lot of parallels between REI and Passive online businesses, especially in the higher-level thinking and skills.
Looking forward to meeting and working with y'all!
Cheers,
Jason Stone
