Newbie from San Francisco--looking at Oakland

Hi everyone!

My name is Allison and a complete newbie to real estate investing. Currently living in Ft. Bliss, Texas but originally from San Francisco and moving back soon. Unfortunately San Francisco is completely out of my price range for multi- family homes. Looking at my first property around $400,000- $450,000 in Oakland instead and the surrounding Bay Area.

Looking forward to any tips or insights that anyone has!
