@Larry Fried  Looking to get a nice cashflow from the multi family rentals to build up some capital and equity. From my understanding so far I would say I'm leaning more towards buy and holds in order to leverage the equity for more rental properties.

@Kyle J.  Thanks for the tips! Will definitely make use of the meetups as soon as I move back to the Bay. And yes, the podcasts are awesome and I actually stumbled onto Bigger Pockets from Youtube.

@James Wise Definitely starting out with just rentals... Perhaps flips later on down the line with more experience

Hi everyone!

My name is Allison and a complete newbie to real estate investing. Currently living in Ft. Bliss, Texas but originally from San Francisco and moving back soon. Unfortunately San Francisco is completely out of my price range for multi- family homes. Looking at my first property around $400,000- $450,000 in Oakland instead and the surrounding Bay Area. 

Looking forward to any tips or insights that anyone has!
