New from Atlanta, GA

Hello all, I am new from Atlanta, GA looking to make a start in real estate investing.

I am 24 years old, a recent college graduate from UGA with a degree in accounting, and have been in the professional world for about year now. I've recently read several different articles about how investing in real estate is one of the best investments you can make, and that it really is better to start when you are younger. So I figured I might as well buy a place instead of renting, and hopefully if I like it I may make a hobby of it.

So I am looking to buy a place in Vinings, GA. I have already found several different condos/apartments that I like, but I don't know much about what a good deal is. I know that the Atlanta Braves will be moving to the area soon, so I am thinking that this would make the area a great investment opportunity. But I am inexperienced and don't want to jump ahead in purchasing something too quickly before I have learned from some experienced people. I am looking learning from you all, thanks in advance for all the posts and advice.

Thanks for the advice, its true that because I am living there I want to be sure that I really like it myself as opposed to just whether or not it is a good deal. Looking forward to connecting more on the site.

Take a look at all the comps in the market and insure your getting a property for a decent deal. No need to totally base your buying decision on cost though as it will be your personal home. Still has to be something that you will like living in.
