Hi,

I've signed up to this site as part of my investigation into the feasibility of buying to let in the SF Bay Area. My only experience of being a landlord is letting the first floor of my home for a year after I bought it - to a tenant we inherited.

My goal is to find a first property (apartment, single family home, or duplex) that will generate positive net income (any appreciation in value is a bonus, but I'm not factoring that into my business plan). Doing that in this area is obviously a challenge due to the high property prices, so I'm taking things slow - lots of reading and research.

Cheers,

Stephen
