My name is Elizabeth Davis; I have lived in Houston since 2009 and am currently a Catering Manager for Panera Bread. I purchased my first home in 2010 where I now live with my husband and 5 year old daughter. Buying our home is the extent of my real estate experience to date!

A few months ago I started studying some material to get my real estate license, but just wasn't excited about selling houses. I decided to investigate REI and discovered this web site on Christmas Day while testing out my new tablet from Santa. I've been on the site just about every day since.

The rough draft of my plan is this: start with flipping and/or wholesaling and progress to rental properties. Also, I'd like to find out more about tax liens. I would like to replace my income so I can quit my job and commit to REI full-time as soon as possible. My initial goal is no later than May 2016. As I get more experience, I'll find out how realistic that is! From your experience, does this sound like a reasonable plan?

I have a million questions and spend a lot of time with the "search" function on BP! My most burning questions at this time are: 1) Do I need to get licensed now? I'd rather focus my time and energy on learning about REI than studying for an exam. 2) Should I join the Houston Real Estate Investment Association? Other than BP, how do you recommend I gather knowledge?

Thank you all in advance for your support and to BP for this fantastic web site. I look forward to getting to know you here on BP and to a long and prosperous career in REI!
