Hello,

I'm Lucas, a native of Portland, Oregon, and first-time home buyer as of 2010.  My wife and I got married in 2013, and we are looking to turn our current home into a rental investment property and then buy a new, larger home for our main residence.  I have been doing lots of homework on real estate investing, including reading several books and exploring the Internet, and that's how I came across this site.  Right now, my main goal is to learn as much as possible on these forums.

I'm taking things one step at a time, starting small with my current property, so I hesitate to say I'm jumping all the way into becoming an investor, but it is a dream of mine, and we will see what the future holds.  I've had a strong interest in real estate, in one form or another, my entire adult life.  I'm ready to learn from you all, share my progress in my goal, and hopefully celebrate good news in the future.  As you probably know, Portland is a hot market right now, especially where I live, close-in Southeast, so I think my timing for considering this next step is good.
