First of all, wow this site is a jackpot for information and insight into RE investing! I just wanted to introduce myself here:
My 9 to 5 job is in commercial banking as an underwriter, mostly in commercial lending. I am now at a point in my life where I have some wealth built up that I wish to start learning and acting upon my RE investment goals. I have had the pleasure of working with several real estate investors covering nearly the whole spectrum of RE investing, from spec/custom home builders, single/multi family investors, and commercial. My knowledge of RE investing is pretty limited at this point. I know what I need to know to do my due diligence in my banking role, but I really want to educate myself on how an investor looks at a deal.
At some point I would prefer to build some professional relationships with experienced home flippers/new construction folks and maybe do some equity partnering, as opposed to doing this on my own. But before I even do that I have a lot of reading, research, and networking to do! I think I found a good place to start!
Thanks!

Welcome to the community! I am sure we could use some more input from the underwriting side of things on this site. Be sure to be as active and engaging as possible. this site has a wealth of information, but only if you seek it out. Join meetups, post questions, read blogs, and I always suggest a podcast marathon. Good luck!
