Hi everyone,
My name is Steven Weiss. My family and I live in San Francisco. I work at Stanford U. as an educational researcher, and I also have my own educational consultancy.
Starting about five years ago, my wife and I bought 6 small houses throughout the U.S.--two in Denver, two in Charlotte, one in Raleigh and another in OKC. We are looking to buy up to four more in markets with strong economic foundations.
As my wife and I both work (and have 2 kids), we are looking for pretty hands-off buy and hold opportunities, using property management companies. Short term cash flow is not our most important driver--rather, I am looking to pay for my children's college expenses and prepare myself for retirement in another 15 years or so.
Looking forward to the conversation!
steven

welcome to bigger pockets. have you looked into a self directed cesa? you can own real estate under your kids names with a self directed coverdall educational savings account. you earn the income tax free. I am about to buy a house for 17k and flip it for 20k under the cesa for my son and pay zero taxes on the 3k income.
