San Diego: new investor & real estate agent (in near future)

Hey BP family.  I'm new to San Diego, moved here with my wife and dog from metro Detroit area.  I'm very surprised I joined BP after all the Detroit bashing Josh and Brandon do on the podcasts.

I went to Michigan State for my bachelor's in electrical engineering and Oakland University for a master in engineering management.  I have 11+ years experience in engineering positions, which I am actively working as here in SD.  I was also a real estate agent in Michigan for a year and am actively pursuing requirements for California salesperson license.  I have one single family investment in MI (previous primary residence).  Looking to stop watching from the sidelines and start doing more with real estate investing and grow a fruitful career.

Other than that, I am easy going, work hard, always looking to learn and willing to help.  I also attempt surfing here in SoCal and got pounded by a 7' wave this morning, so sorry if I don't make any sense.

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and looking forward to learning, working and growing with all of you.

Thanks @Brett Synicky, @Isaac Guzman , @Nathalie Hirsch, @Ali Boone, @Emma Chen, @Dmitriy Fomichenko for the welcome.  Lots of information and options available I still need to digest, so I am hoping to learn quickly and contribute.
