Howdy from Oakland, CA

Hello from sunny California.

I am a new-ish investor in rental properties in Oakland, CA.

I bought a few single-family houses. I manage them myself (actually my wife :)

Never had the guts (or the money) to buy something bigger (for example a fourplex).

I'm joining this community to see how others around me have done it.

Welcome to BP @Ivan Zlatev.  There are a bunch of good folks investing in Oakland in all shapes and forms.  @J Martin loves multifam (1-4) in Oakland and is a great resource.  And remember, while it does take money to buy that 4-plex it doesn't have to be YOUR money.  Could partner with folks, doe creative financing, etc.

Happy hunting and Happy Thanksgiving!

Cheers,

Jeff
