New Member from Des Moines, IA

Hello everyone!  I am a humble beginner from Des Moines, IA looking to start a new chapter in my professional life.  I currently work as a director of IT.  After eight long years as an IT professional, I have come to realize that my true passions lie elsewhere.  With the strong support of my wife, I am excited to begin my journey in becoming a real estate investor.  My current interests are in buying/holding, but I would also be interested in the occasional flip if the right opportunity were to present itself.

On a personal note, I was born and raised in central Iowa and grew up in the construction industry, as my father owned a concrete and construction business.  Before my mother followed her dream to become a registered nurse, she worked as a realtor.  This is where I first developed an interest in the real estate industry and it's something that I have never quite been able to shake!  I currently reside in a northern suburb of Des Moines with my wife and two dogs.  I enjoy spending time with family, friends, and cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Green Bay Packers!

In an attempt to learn as much as humanly possible, I turned to the internet and came across BiggerPockets.  I am very impressed with the knowledge that is displayed here and am excited to join as a member.  I'm also looking forward to creating new relationships with like minded professionals.  Thank you to everyone in advance as I am confident I will be learning a lot from this forum in the future!
