Hello everyone,

My name is Mike and I'm from Highland, CA (San Bernardino county) which is located about 60 miles east of Los Angeles. I am brand new to real estate investing and am so glad that I've discovered this great resource and community here at BiggerPockets!

I work full-time as a construction inspector, mainly throughout L.A. and Orange counties. Since this takes up the bulk of my days, I am looking to start investing during my off time.

Thus far, I've searched around the forums and been exposed to such a massive amount of relevant information. That alone has been an incredible source of free education.

I'm also in the middle of reading through J Scott's books, "The Book on Flipping Houses" and "The Book on Estimating Rehab Costs". These are proving to be great guides for a solid foundation.

Probably the most fun I have had in my real estate education process has been while listening to The BiggerPockets Podcasts, thanks to @Joshua Dorkin  and Brandon Turner. For anyone who hasn't begun listening to these, even as a Newbie, I highly recommend listening to the Podcasts. If you don't know where to begin, start at Podcast #1 and take it from there. I love downloading these shows and listening to them on my lengthy commutes to and from work. It actually has given a purpose to all of those terrible hours I spend sitting behind the wheel and in So Cal traffic.

What I am most interested in at this point is S.F.R. rehab & flips, preferrably in the Inland Empire (encompassing Riverside and San Bernardino counties). I do not yet have a "Team" or complete network of individuals who specialize in key areas of finding, buying, renovating, and selling properties.

Down the road, I see possible dealings with Wholesaling and Buy & Holds, but I'd like to gain experience and capital through Flipping at this time.

Thank you for taking the time to read about me. I would love to hear back from BP members & I wish you the best luck in your ventures!
