I am new to investing. I would like to lend small amounts from my Self Directed IRA to get started. Looking for liquidity at first, in order to eventually quit the 9 to 5. Plus I need a lot of dental work (plus have medical bills) so I can't spend what I thought I could.

I hope this is the right place to post this.  I am trying to introduce myself.

@Mercedes Hawkins  welcome to the site!

Typically, offers and requests should go into the Marketplace.  This is a board specifically for those types of things.  If you are listing money for borrowing, be sure to list your criteria, such as what states you will lend to, what interest rate, what term, and any points you will be charging.

Lending from a self-directed IRA can get you very good returns and can be a win-win because you are helping someone else's success and they are paying you for that. Just be aware that when you post that you have money to lend, you may get a bunch of PMs (private messages) to your inbox saying "invest in me" etc.

The important thing is to vet your borrowers.  When you're first getting started lending, be very strict in your criteria.  You may want to limit your lending just to experienced borrowers, such as those who have already completed X deals.  Or if someone has borrowed money before and can show a track record of paying it back.
