Here's my introduction: I slowly got into real estate investing just by buying owner-occupant houses. We've purchased five houses, all of which were distressed properties. We renovated all of them, sold the first two, kept the next two and are renting them now. We live in the fifth one. We're thinking of taking the next step to investing in investment properties (rather than living in them as we go), either by getting another rental, or flipping a house, but are not quite sure about financing.
