Looking to learn and grow in Iowa

Hi all - I'm a complete rookie in real estate investing and became intrigued a few years back but never did anything about it. I'm glad I did some looking around and came accross this site. After perusing a little bit I've found more useful information here for nothing that I would have paid for elsewhere. I really want to get started and understand it will be work, especially since I'm a full time facilities manager and have no intention of leaving steady income until I can at least double my income. I'm thinking wholesaling is the best way to begin and was hoping to find good advise and would be willing to pay fair market value for mentoring in the right situation. If anyone out there could steer me in the right direction, it sure would be appreciated. I should say that I am registered for a fortune builders summit in a couple of weeks and that is who recharged my desire to get into this. Don't worry, I've read a boatload of posts here on BP and understand. Even though alot of what I read deflated my tires a little, I will at least go through it and learn all I can. Maybe even go on ebay and see about buying a used FB wholesale training set. SO, anyone out there care to take a rookie under thier wing? Thanks!

@Scott Justason  welcome! I'm too new to take anyone under my wing, but I'll certainly help you out with beginner's questions :). Just shoot them my way!

I will say not to get discouraged. I wouldn't recommend paying for any kind of program that promises to make you an expert in a matter of days, but there are tons of great books out there. Also, I'd be willing to bet that any question you have can be answered on this forum :).

Good luck!
