New Investor from Calgary, AB, Canada

Greetings,

I am a new investor, living near the Calgary area.  We've been here only about a year and moved from Toronto previously.  I currently work as an IT Consultant.  However my goal is totally financial freedom -- in order to have the ability to spend more time with my growing family and wife.

I've only recently discovered BiggerPockets and I am so glad to discover the wealth of information available here!  BiggerPockets saved me from throwing down big $$$$ for Guru seminars (which I was seriously considering).

Anyhow I'm digesting all the information I can find and getting an education.  Luckily I have a bit of a head start as I previously worked for two of the big Canadian banks -- so I have at least a bit of education about the financial system.

Today I'm feeling a bit down though as the more and more I analyze the housing market here -- the less opportunity I see.  Seems the RE market here is way over extended.  I'm not sure if there is any opportunity here in Alberta?
