Hi members of the Bigger Pockets Community!
Hi everyone,
I just wanted to introduce myself to the community. I've been learning a lot from these forums, so I finally that today was the day to officially join!
A little bit about me: I am on the earlier spectrum of RE investing. I am a fresh college graduate who is starting a career in finance. My overall goal is to have passive income that exceeds $3k a month (yes, that will take a while).
I enjoy scenic hiking, reading, gymming and investing.
I have some extra capital that I have amassed since I was little (yup, counting those piggy banks) and am looking to making my first investment this year. I am looking for properties that are in the 50k-120k range to start off and learn the ropes.
So far, I've been really impressed by the BP community. And I'm looking forward to learn, grow and contribute here!

Welcome to Biggerpocket!
We are also buy and hold investors. My background was also finances :) We got started at 23 and 25, 3years ago. Now we make almost 1500 a month in passive income with another 2 house in the works. You will get to that 3k passive income quicker than you think. The key for us has been babsteps, eyes on the target and to be flexible. We have been able to turn many lemons of life into great opportunities.
We got started through personal properties. They have lower interest rates and down payments. Many of our friends rented out their rooms in the house so they lived rent free. Other people on this site bought multiplexes. So there are lots of opportunities. A key part of our success has been working hard on our full time careers, advancing so that we can fund our houses.
Our goal is early retirement in 15 years. So we are planners for the long term. We don't follow the 1%, 2%, or 50% rule. We buy class A properties that we can self manage. While they have lower margins, we have tight controls on our expenses, almost no vancanies and no property manager fee. So its doable.
Definitly check out the blogs, podcast and forums. Another great source of information is individual blogs found in peoples signatures. Many of us including myself write about our niche. The one thing we all agree about is investing in Real Estate beyond that we all widely differ based on our styles and modes of investing. My blog/website is about long distance self management, landlording, investing in class A investments, investing in a transient lifestyle, roommates, etc.
Look forward to seeing you around the forums!
