Newbie from NYC looking to relocate

Hi All,

I'm pleased to have found this forum, it seems to be the right place for me to begin my journey into REI.

A bit about myself - I am under 30 years old, married to a wonderful lady, and have a toddler boy. Hurray! I have extensive business experience, having worked as the purchasing director for a large eccomerce company for a few years now, and run my own web design/hosting business on the side since age 16. I recently left my 9-5 and am heading into REI full time! with 50k to start with and a wife who is a special ed teacher and can pay the bills, along with some side income from my web business. Call me crazy, but i am determined to turn my 50k into something way more substantial within the next two years.

I am absolutely new to REI, and am searching for my starting point. Here in NYC my measly 50k don't buy squat! So we are looking to head west, namely to Houston or Denver. Both cities seem attractive for reasons of their own, but i need help deciding based on the REI opportunity.

I know these two cities are vastly different, still i would still appreciate any advice..

My advise.

Pick where you want to live and invest there.

I think Denver wins that discussion hands down.
