New from Covington, Louisiana

All,

Decided to stop lurking and introduce myself. I'm from Covington, Louisiana which is about 45 minutes north of New Orleans.

Have listened to majority of the podcasts and am reading as many books as I can on real estate investing.  Other than being a homeowner I have zero experience in real estate.

Plan is to buy single family homes in middle class, mostly owner occupied neighborhoods with good schools.  Would like to landlord these myself rather than using property management. Nearby cities that I'm looking at are Mandeville, Covington and Hammond, Louisiana.

Goal is future passive income and portfolio diversification.

Thanks,
Jack
