Hello all!

I'm Eric and I am new to the BiggerPockets community. I do not have any real estate experience (engineer by trade) but I am interested in learning about the real estate industry.  In fact my first goal is to look for my first home purchase but the process of trying to understand everything is very overwhelming and need help.  I am a huge avid forum reader so I hope in time I can soak in all the information.

I found BP through a search engine for "best websites to learn about real estate" and BP popped up as a recommendation.  In fact I started listening to the BP podcasts to try to immerse myself with the terminology and tips on how to get started.  I downloaded the BP Ultimate Beginners Guide but I haven't had a chance to read through it yet.  I haven't checked for any local Real Estate clubs in the Los Angeles area but I am very interested in checking one out and willing to learn under someone's wing.  If there are any recommendations for Real Estate clubs, please feel free to leave me a comment and/or shoot me a PM.

What I want to get out of the BP community is to be able to learn more about the real estate industry and from others.  My goal is to eventually find buy and hold real estate to produce some passive income.
