Hello from NY

A quick hello from Putnam County, NY (just outside Westchester, about 50 miles north of NYC). I've been reading the forums for a while now, and found the wealth of information here very very helpful. So first, a big thank you to all of you who take the time to help newbs like me.

Second, a little about me: I am a 33 year old 9-to-5er (CPA) with a wife and a young child (another on the way), who has slowly grown tired of the Corporate America thing and have been studying real estate investing for the better part of a year now in hopes of making this my livelihood down the line. Ideally, I'd like to deal strictly in buy-and-hold rentals, but to start out in this area/market it looks like rehabs is the way to go for now.

So finally, I am ready to take the plunge by purchasing my first rehab and plan to chronicle the process in detail from a first-timer's perspective once things get moving a bit. Hopefully, other new investors will find some value in hearing my story once it has unfolded.

Thanks again, and I look forward to sharing more about this in the near future.
