Oh no! Not another newbie!!!
Hello Everyone,
My name is Alex Kvasnikov. It is indeed Russian.
I hail from Siskiyou County California. The REAL northern California! We moved out here from the Bay Area after my father retired from Ampex corp in Redwood City.
I began my real estate education when I purchased my first home at the age of 21. I pulled this off while working a low paying retail job and renting out additional rooms to friends and co-workers. I like to joke to my friends "It was the house that Wal-mart built!" At the height of 08 I became an underwater home owner. I wouldn't of traded that hard learned experience for anything. I ultimately used some of that "Oops" money the bank provided me to help pay for my wedding! But that's another story.
Fast forward, I am now 27. Within the last year I've become a Husband, a Father, and soon to be a homeowner once again! We're currently purchasing a 2B/1B house in an excellent location, and expect to close in October. Our plans are to live in the house 5-10 years fix it up. Take some equity out on the home to purchase an income property or turn it into a rental. Our goal is to turn it into a 3B/2B within the next five years.
I'm seeking information on finding good contractors, different type of funding options ( 203K for example), and trying to inform myself on rental laws of California.
Looking to link up with people who are interested in the Jackson County, Siskiyou County, Redding, Sacramento markets.
We do not have any REI clubs in my area ( I may have to start one ) I LOVE the BP Podcasts. Thank you so much for making those as well as the entire site! I am no stranger to looking in forums for information. I've even moderated a few!
One more odd thing about me. I have been known to practice the art of falconry. Currently bird less due to the newest passion in my life but eventually I will get back into it. I am a General Class so I can take on apprentices should someone out there be interested in apprenticing me! *Hint.. Hint* Wink* Wink* No but seriously, I am a big believer in cutting someone else in on a piece of the action for the experience they can bring to the table.
I look forward to getting to know all of you and thank you for taking the time to read my intro. I apologize in advance for my odd sense of humor. I will keep it more professional after this post. :)
Happy Hunting everyone!
