Newbie from Tennessee

Hello all. My name is Jonathan. I currently live in the Clarksville area but within the next year will be relocation to the Cleveland, TN area. By day I am active Army but getting out within the year. 

I am trying to get started in real estate investing and looking at some rent to own/lease options to get started right now. When I get out and relocate planning to utilize a VA loan to purchase a Duplex/TriPlex/QuadPlex to get some income rolling.

I owned my own business for 7 years before closing it in 2009 and joining the Army. I learned a lot through that failure/education experience that I do not plan to repeat this round with starting/growing a business. 

When I get out I plan to finish my Master in Business Administration. Currently have a BA in Technical Theatre. I have done a decent amount of reading over the past few years in real estate investing but finally deciding to get things going.

When I am able to develop connections and some hard money lenders I plan to move into some rehabs. My goal is to try and retire from an active day job and be working for myself with in 7 years.
