Welcome @George Skelton - I am also in the Charlotte area.  As @Brandon Turner mentioned above, be sure to set up a keyword alert for "Charlotte" and any other interests/areas you might have.  We have had a few local meet ups with Charlotte BP members so you should receive a message through the keywords when the next one takes place.
