Greetings from San Jose California

Hello Biggerpockets,

There are a lot of great articles and advice here on the forum. I have learned a lot and hope to continue to do so.

Let me do a little background on myself for everyone. I am a single father and has lived here in San Jose California all my life. Never owned a home and if I can't get myself out of debt I probably never will. My folks had a rental and I helped them do some rehabbing, things like plumbing, paint, putting up sheet rock, tiling, adding bathroom fixtures, and other stuff like that. So I guess I could say I'm pretty handy around the house.

I have been interested in real estate for many years now but never knew where to start, until now. I have read a few books and done time on the internet researching to how to's. I have chosen to wholesale property since my credit is shot, I have no available funds, and I live paycheck to paycheck. I planning to use wholesaling as a means to get out of debt and build some capital to rehab property.

My goal is to wholesale at least 2 properties in the next six months and get myself out of debt with in a year. The year after that I like to have a little 2 bedroom house for my daughter plus a rental for my folks. They have very supportive through out my life and would like to return the favor so to speak. Is that a reasonable goal considering where I live? Are there any investors here in San Jose?

Well there' a start. I do have lots of questions and I will be posting in other topics. Looking forward to here from people.

Thanks
