New investor from Grand Rapids, MI

Greetings everyone! 

I've excited to be here! My name is Shane Davis and I currently live in Grand Rapids, MI. I own a CrossFit gym here in town but am looking to begin building another business in RE. I began looking into REI about 12 years ago but got a little sidetracked when I went into the military. I hate thinking about where I might be now if I'd have just stayed the course. Oh well, water under the bridge.

I have a fair amount of experience in business, although, my experience in REI is fairly limited. I've owned a duplex and have helped my parents manage and work on a couple rental properties they owned. Beyond that I'm a newbie.

I'm interested in connecting with other local investors and those in other markets. I'm very interested in investing beyond the West MI market. I love to learn and I love to be challenged, so I'm excited to start something new. I also enjoy helping others, so please, if there's any way I can help you, don't hesitate to ask. 

My current plan is to buy and hold for cash flow, although, that may expand as I learn more and make new connections.
