Greetings,  BP!

Through constant Google searches on various topics, I stumbled onto Bigger Pockets and have been hooked since. You can't learn to swim if you aren't in the water, so here we go.

I became a landlord "by accident" when we outgrew (and were unable to sell for the amount we needed) our far West Chicago Suburban duplex on our journey to the far South Suburbs of Chicago.

Through the learning experiences of the last year or two from being a landlord and through learning from BP,  I'm realizing what's possible in Real Estate investing.  My goals are:

- to obtain my R.E. license (just signed up for at home study course)

- to obtain multifamily properties for the purpose of supplementing and replacing my current income (territory sales rep - would like to be home with the kids more if you catch my drift).

- to keep learning and networking/upgrade to Pro or Plus account.

- and yes, eventually,  fix and flip like all the cool TV shows. However,  with a few exceptions, much of Chicago's "Southland" doesn't appear too ripe for that as of now...perhaps another discussion thread (when I figure out the best place on BP to place it)?

I look forward to learning and interacting. Best wishes to all.
