New from Netherlands, or am I?

Hi Folks,

Just signed up to the forum, and thought I'd do a quick intro.

My name is Maarten, and I am from The Netherlands. I am just getting into RE investing, with the objective to create a passive income stream, spreading of my portfolio, and generally to counter inflationary effects.

I am currently living abroad (Asia) for a couple of years, for work. I am originally from the city of Maastricht, but lived in The Hague for a while and owned (yes, sold) a place there. Amsterdam seems to be the hottest market in the country though, so I am currently still between those three cities for my investment activities. If any Dutch members have any thoughts on this, I am very curious...

My strategy will be buy-and-hold, as I am not in the country at the moment, and will not be able to manage a more labour-intensive strategy (maybe later, the place we had in The Hague we renovated extensively, so some experience (good and bad) with that).

Cheers everyone, looking forward to this journey!
