Greetings from Benton County, AR.

I'm a Civil Engineer working 50+ hours per week at my full-time job with an interest in learning about real estate and investing in general. I found this site linked from www.Bogleheads.org which I found while researching Roth IRAs and index funds. There is a lot of information on this site and some very knowledgeable people. Real estate will never be my exclusive investment vehicle but I hope to make it a portion of a well diversified portfolio some day. There is definitely something appealing about owning physical property instead of REITs.

I'm married, in my early 30's, and have no plans to purchase any investment properties in the immediate future. My participation will be mostly reading through the information on this site and lending my opinion where it might be appreciated. I've recently become debt free with the exception of my primary residence ($93k owed on $120k value, 14 years left @2.75%) and I'm working on getting it paid off before I'm 40.

I'm educated, opinionated, animated, and analytical so I'm not one to jump into something new without understanding it and evaluating all my options. That's why I'm here, to learn about expanding my investment portfolio with enough time to make an informed decision. After all, knowledge is power!
