Hello everyone!

I've been lurking on the boards for months here and there, but recently realized the depth of knowledge and relationships that can be gained by leaving Lurkervile and actually posting and sharing!

I'm John and I own two multi-family buildings in Chicago. I live in one of them (2-unit), renting out the other unit and the other is a 3-unit that cash flows around $1200 monthly. I'm looking to acquire more multis in Chicago to buy and hold for cash flow, but need to generate more cash to do another deal (or wait and save for like 3-4 years, but "ain't nobody got time for that!").

I'm hoping to generate this cash through flipping a few SFR in Cleveland or Cincinnati. I'm from Cleveland and my family lives there and I believe there are good deals that can be made. My wife's family lives in Cincy and my sister-in-law is one of the better agents in the area and has owned a couple rentals.

I'm hoping to gain the knowledge and confidence to pull off my first flip by the Fall and hoping the BP community can help guide me. I'm struggling to find forecast data on these markets to get a sense of trends and help me identify which market should be my focus so if anyone can help direct me there it would be highly appreciated. I'm also open to partnerships for multi-families in Chicago or flips in Cleveland or Cincy. I've already met a few of you and look forward to connecting more in the future.

Thanks!

    @Brianna Schmidt - Thank you. You've already been helpful and I look forward to the meetup groups. I'm a member of CAREIA, but almost everyone there invests in the burbs so it will be good to meet other investors in the city of Chicago.

    @Larry Smet - thanks for the advice. I'm looking to pull together my team now. Will certainly review and share the guide with my sister-in-law as well. First step is zeroing in on a market, so hoping to get a better sense of Cleve vs. Cincy as far as the current local economy & RE market.

    @Joe Fairless - Thanks. Do you believe any of the Ohio markets are stronger than others, currently?

    @Engelo Rumora - Thanks for the welcome. Good to hear you're having success in Ohio. I went to school in Dayton and my brother went to Toledo.

    @Dmitriy Fomichenko - Thank you. I set up my alerts and reviewed the pack. Just wish I would have done it when I first joined BP.

    @Ramon Jenkins - Thank you.

    @Brandon Turner - Thanks Brandon. I started listening to the podcast a couple months ago, think I was intrigued by the purple house blog, especially as I've focused on multi-families so far. Will make sure I spend some time studying the House Flipping blog.
